About us

The Model T Ford Club of Australia (NSW) Inc is a friendly family oriented car club. We do not hold internal competitions but encourage members who like to pursue perfection to enter into inter-club competitions. We have a club run once a month on the Sunday following our meetings. These runs are organised by individual members and have taken us to some fantastic places around Sydney over the years.

We produce a 24 page club magazine called "The Bent Wire" which was the nickname given to the Model T crankshaft as it was so thin.
Members cars may be fully registered through the RMS or on concessional plates with limited usage over the year.

Club History

The Model T Ford Club of Australia came into being on Thursday, 6th December 1973, when five Model T owners met in a small factory in Margate Street, Sans Souci for the purpose of forming a club to cater for the Model T.

By March 1975 the membership had grown so much that we were forced to move to a larger factory in Payten Ave, Punchbowl. With continued  growth in membership, we had to move once again to the Veteran Car Club Hall in  Queens Road, Five Dock, where we currently hold our meetings on the third Friday of each month at 8:00 pm.

During the club's initial year, we were accepted by the Model T Ford Club of America as its first overseas chapter (Chapter 51).
At this time (2009) we have over 200 registered club members mainly from NSW but some from other states in Australia and several overseas members.

Membership costs $40 per year and includes the bi-monthly club magazine "The Bent Wire".

The club has organised runs each month to different locations around the greater Sydney area. These runs are organised and run by the members on a voluntary basis and we have been taken to some wonderful places over the years.

We also attend National Rallies every three years sponsored by the clubs in NSW, VIC, SA and QLD. These events are not to be missed, great runs, great friends and a whole lot of fun.
